The Steel Yard
The Steel Yard’s micro-residency program offers short-term studio access for creative industrial art practices. Residents receive an all-access pass to a 10,000 square foot studio, tools, and community resources. Participants work in a shared studio space alongside a cohort of makers, participating in critiques, exhibitions, and sales. The program typically hosts one ceramics and one metals micro-resident at a time.
Free studio access and use of tools. Alloy Fellowships provide a $250 monthly stipend to select emerging artists.
Applicants must be industrial artists (metals or ceramics). Accepted artists must wait 12 months after completing the program before re-applying. Residents are responsible for their own materials and consumables.
Applications are currently closed for restructuring. When available, applicants must provide a CV/resume, ten digital images of recent work, an image list, a brief artist bio, a narrative statement, and one reference.
