Melbourne City of Literature
Melbourne UNESCO City of Literature is offering a virtual writer in residence opportunity for writers from other UNESCO Cities of Literature. This program in November aims to connect writers, including poets and playwrights, with Melbourne's vibrant literary community. Residents will work with one of several host organizations, such as Blak & Bright, Geelong Regional Libraries, Going Down Swinging, Melbourne Writers' Theatre, Myli-My Community Library, Signal, Society of Women Writers Victoria, Sticky Institute, Story Studios Australia, and Writers Victoria. The residency involves creating content, which can include workshops, written pieces, appearances/panels, or social media takeovers, and offers opportunities for meetings and connections within Melbourne's literary scene.
As one of the virtual writers in residence you will be paid $1500 (AUD) and you will retain all copyright for your work. The residency will also include opportunities for meetings with all the writers in residence and facilitated further connections with Melbourne as a City of Literature.
To be eligible you need to be a writer and resident presently in one of the UNESCO Cities of Literature.
Follow this link to start your application process https://cityofliterature.wufoo.com/forms/z11hmfrq1qdgzvc/ You will be asked to nominate your choice of organisation and what you would like to do for and with them. You will also have the opportunity to propose a second organization.
