Landmark Arts Centre
Material Encounters celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Landmark Arts Centre with an expanded biennial Contemporary Textiles Fair. The event includes four core strands: a curated exhibition of large-scale textile artworks and installations, selected panels from the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt, and an extended program of workshops, talks, and live demonstrations. The central textiles fair features over thirty artists and makers presenting contemporary artworks, design pieces, and wearable items.
Fair exhibitors pay a stand fee but retain 100% of sales revenue. Exhibition artists display work in a curated environment with a 30% commission taken by the Landmark on any sales. All exhibitors receive promotional support and event tickets.
Open to artists, designers, and makers working with contemporary textile practices. Fair applicants must be UK-based and produce high-quality, handmade work. Exhibition applicants may submit up to three works for consideration in the curated Gothic hall.
Applicants must complete the online application form for either the Fair or Exhibition strand. Submission requires an artist statement, a proposal (materials, dimensions, pricing), and a minimum of four high-quality images (300dpi JPEG or PNG) labeled as Name_Title_Medium.
