About the Open Call
The Marta Hoepffner-Gesellschaft für Fotografie e.V. promotes artistic black-and-white photography through this biennial prize. The 2026 theme 'Behind the Mirror' invites artists to explore reflection as a metaphor between reality and illusion. Submissions must be 3-5 black-and-white prints (analog or high-quality digital) no older than two years and no larger than 40x50 cm. All photographic genres are welcome including portrait, landscape, architecture, stills, documentary, and experimental.
What is Offered
€3,000 prize money for the winner, participation in an exhibition at the Stadtmuseum Hofheim am Taunus (July 12, 2026), and two copies of the exhibition catalog for all selected participants.
Requirements
Trained photographers or artists in their first five years of professional practice, students from the 4th semester, or apprentices in their final year. Submissions must be 3-5 unmounted black-and-white works (up to 40x50 cm) created within the last two years.
