About the Open Call

OUCH! is an exhibition opportunity for the 22nd season of Manifest Gallery. The call seeks art that addresses the myriad things that hurt, including physical, emotional, and psychological pain. The project explores how pain moves us, shapes us, or lingers as a trace, inviting artists to share works that give form to hurt without a promise of catharsis. The jury process is anonymous and consists of professional and academic advisors.

What is Offered

Each participating exhibitor receives a $50 cash honorarium. Additionally, one work from the exhibition will be eligible for a $1,000 Grand Jury Award. For sales, the artist receives 70% of the sale price.

Requirements

Open to international artists. All entries must represent original works addressing the theme of pain. No size or date restrictions on submitted work. Video/interactive entries require a viewing link and a representative still image.

How to Apply

Complete the required online entry form. After submission, high-quality JPEG images must be uploaded via the provided Dropbox link. Entry fees of $45 for the first three entries and $5 for each additional entry are payable by check or PayPal.
