Mandorla Art Award
Celebrating its 40th anniversary, the 2026 Mandorla Art Award invites artists to respond to a biblical theme. The award includes a significant prize pool, an exhibition at Holmes à Court Gallery, and a touring exhibition for selected works. The program features artist talks, a retreat at New Norcia, and professional development workshops. It encompasses various mediums including 2D works, VR, and screen-based media.
$30,000 Acquisitive Prize; three $7,000 Highly Commended prizes; $7,000 Emerging Artist Prize; $2,000 People's Choice Prize; New Norcia Artist Residency Prize ($10,000 fee plus accommodation, studio space, and meals); exhibition and touring opportunities.
Open to all artists; specific criteria for Emerging Artist and Residency prizes apply. 2D artworks must be fitted with 20mm D-rings for installation. Artists are responsible for freighting costs. The work must respond to the specific 2026 theme.
Submit the online entry form once entries open in September 2025. Applicants must provide a $50 entry fee, an artist statement (max 800 characters), an artist biography (max 800 characters), and up to three high-quality images of the artwork. Screen-based artists must provide a streaming link for an excerpt up to 4 minutes.
