About the Open Call

Mall Galleries hosts annual exhibitions for several major art societies. Each society invites submissions from artists worldwide. Acceptable media varies by society but generally includes painting, sculpture, drawing, and original prints. Significant prize funds are available across all calls: RBA (£20,000+), RI (£10,000+), RP (£35,000), and NEAC (£10,000+). Exhibitions are held physically at Mall Galleries and online.

What is Offered

Prizes and awards worth over £85,000 across multiple exhibitions, including the £20,000 William Lock Portrait Prize and the £2,000 NEAC Climate Emergency Prize. Includes free admission to the exhibitions.

Requirements

Open to artists aged 18 and over worldwide. Works must be original and not previously exhibited in London. Size limit is generally 2.4m. All work must be for sale, with a 45% commission plus VAT taken by the gallery.

How to Apply

Artists must register and submit their work through the OESS online entry system at the Mall Galleries portal. Each call has specific deadlines and requirements for image submission and physical delivery if selected.
