About the Open Call

The Malamegi Lab Art Award is an international competition open to artists working in various disciplines such as drawing, painting, sculpture, photography, graphic design, mixed media, digital art, and video. The competition aims to select 12 finalist artists who will gain significant exposure and opportunities within the contemporary art world. Prizes include participation in the New Malamegi Collection, an Artwork Acquisition Award (up to €2000), a high-profile group exhibition in Venice, a Cash Prize of €1000 for artistic research, and the dedication of a monographic catalogue, fully curated and distributed by Malamegi Lab. This award serves as a vital platform for artists to establish their presence internationally and connect with a network of emerging talents, offering global recognition, prestigious awards, and unique professional development opportunities.

Requirements

The competition is open to all artists. Artworks not for sale or with a price higher than the acquisition prize (over €2000) will not be eligible for the Artwork Acquisition Prize, but can still win other awards.
