Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art
The Alternator Centre for Contemporary Art is a non-profit artist-run centre that selects programming through an open call for submissions. The selection committee seeks works aligned with their vision of experimental approach and diversity of perspective. The Main Gallery is suited for early-career artists or established artists' experimental work, while the Project Gallery offers additional space for diverse media. Selected artists receive professional exhibition support, including royalties, installation assistance, and photo documentation.
Exhibition royalties (CAR/FAC Fee Schedule), staff assistance with installation, production of an exhibition essay, photo documentation, community outreach opportunities, and supplementary financial support for travel, accommodation, or childcare.
Proposals must be submitted as a single PDF. Requirements include a practice overview (max 500 words), project proposal (300-500 words), artist CVs (max 3 pages each), image list, and portfolio images. Media-based work should include links and passwords.
Applicants must submit a single PDF document titled LAST NAME_FIRST NAME.pdf via the online submission form.
