Maguire Art Museum
Evolving Freedoms invites regional contemporary artists to submit work that reflects on the shifting landscape of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This exhibition seeks to explore how these foundational ideals are interpreted, challenged, and reimagined through personal experience, social movements, and collective memory. The museum specifically seeks photography and print-based works that engage with themes such as identity, civil rights, social justice, cultural heritage, and environmental freedoms.
Selected artists will have their work featured in the exhibition from September 17 to December 13, 2026. Artists are responsible for shipping and transporting their art to and from the museum.
The call is open to regional contemporary artists. Works must be photography or print-based and must engage with the specified exhibition themes. Artists must provide an artist statement specifically relating their work to the theme of the show.
Applicants must complete the online submission form, which requires contact information, an address, 10 images of work (formatted with last name and number, max 2MB each), a corresponding image list, a resume, and an artist statement explaining how the work relates to the exhibition theme.
