LUSTR 2026 - Illustration and Comics Festival open call

About the Open Call

LUSTR is a major illustration and comics festival held annually in Prague since 2014. The 13th edition features a non-thematic Showcase exhibition selected through an international open call. The festival seeks original author-driven projects in three categories: free illustration, comics, and author collectives. Approximately 50 exhibitors will be selected by an expert eight-member jury based on exhibition concept, originality of drawing style, and project coherence. Selected works will be exhibited from September 24–30, 2026, and featured in the festival catalog.

Inclusion in the LUSTR 2026 Showcase exhibition, featured entry in the festival catalog, and social media promotion.

Requirements

Open to artists who did not exhibit at the LUSTR festival in 2025. Works must represent free artistic practice and not be primarily created on commission (though previously published book works are allowed). Selected exhibitors are responsible for their own installation costs and logistics, or may pay a service fee (700 CZK installation/350 CZK uninstallation) for festival assistance.

How to Apply

Applicants must complete the online Jotform application, providing contact information, a description of their exhibition concept, an online portfolio link, and three sample images in JPG format (minimum 2300x2300 px, max 3 MB).
