Locarno Film Festival
The Locarno Residency offers support and guidance for filmmakers developing their first feature film. It includes a 3-day stay during the 79th Locarno Film Festival, online sessions, and two in-person sessions (winter in Italy, spring in Arles). Three projects are selected for a one-year mentoring program. Includes a CHF 5,000 scholarship for the winning project based on artistic merit.

Candidates must be under 40 (born 1986 or later), fluent in English, and have directed a short film or documentary selected in a film festival. Must be developing a first feature length project (over 60 minutes) scheduled for production after September 2027.
