About the Open Call

The LEF Moving Image Fund (MIF) was launched in 2001 to fund new film and video work. It supports documentary projects through all phases of production. The fund values individual creative voices, artistic risk-taking, creative growth, and diversity. Since its inception, it has awarded over 500 grants to New England-based filmmakers, totaling over $5.5 million.

What is Offered

Grants for early-stage development through film completion, peer review feedback, and mentorship.

Requirements

Must be an independent filmmaker based in the New England region (United States). Projects must be in the documentary film or video genre.
