Tate Collective
Girls in Film and Tate Collective are hosting an Open Call for film and photography. The opportunity seeks work that responds to themes present in Lee Miller's exhibition at Tate Britain, specifically focusing on community identity, resistance, surrealism, and activism. Submissions can be existing works or newly created pieces. The open call aims to showcase the talent of women, trans+, and non-binary artists aged 16-25 who are members of Tate Collective. Lee Miller's career journey, from model to surrealist fashion photographer and World War II correspondent for British Vogue, serves as an inspiration for the themes. Film submissions have a maximum length of 3 minutes.
Selected works will be shown on a digital display at Late at Tate Britain on 13th February, on the Tate website, and on any other of Tate’s approved partner platforms. Content may also be used to promote Tate platforms or projects on social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), in-gallery at Tate sites, and on printed materials (leaflets).
Submissions are open to women, trans+ and non-binary artists aged 16-25 who are part of Tate Collective. Film submissions should be maximum 3 minutes in length. The submission must be the artist's own original work, and if it contains others’ material (images, video, music), the artist must have obtained necessary permissions. Content must be suitable for under 18s. Only one entry per person is accepted.
Submit your film or photography work via the provided online form. Applicants will need to provide their name, email, DOB, Tate Collective membership number, and a 100-150 word description of their work explaining how it responds to the brief.
