Laçzos Artísticos

About the Open Call

Laçzos Artísticos is an international mobility program for artists, promoted by the Organization of Ibero-American States for Education, Science and Culture (OEI) and the Directorate-General for Arts of Portugal (DGARTES). It is the result of an agreement signed in 2023 to support internationalization in the Ibero-American space and in the countries of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP). Within the framework of their work to promote culture, OEI and DGARTES have joined forces to launch this new scholarship program for artistic exchange and improvement in the geographical areas of Ibero-America and the CPLP, with the aim of promoting and valuing artistic exchange, without forgetting the importance of supporting internationalization. The objective is to promote the circulation of artistic projects submitted by citizens of Ibero-America and Portuguese-speaking countries within these regional spaces. The DGARTES-OEI scholarship aims to foster the development of new artistic languages, territories, knowledge, and artistic and technical skills. Furthermore, it will be a vehicle for the exchange of knowledge, audience development, the launch of artists and works, and the genesis and development of lasting work networks, both in the host country(ies) and in the country of residence. The program provides a total annual value of 25,000.00 €, consisting of 11 scholarships, each for 2250 €, intended to contribute to the artistic and professional development of the beneficiaries. The scholarship amount will cover plane tickets and corresponding medical and travel insurance.

What is Offered

Scholarships totaling 25,000 EUR for 11 artists (2,250 EUR each), covering air travel and medical/travel insurance. Funds can also be used for living expenses upon authorization.

Requirements

Individual applications are accepted from individuals over 18 years of age, residing in or nationals of an OEI member country and/or a CPLP member country, who predominantly engage in professional artistic activity or are associated with professional artistic entities, with the aim of deepening their skills, knowledge, and artistic development. Applications for projects to be carried out in the applicant's country of residence will not be accepted. Eligible artistic activities are predominantly in visual arts (architecture, plastic arts, design, photography, and new media), performing arts (circus, dance, music, opera, and theatre), street arts, and interdisciplinarity.

How to Apply

Applications are divided into two phases. First, it is necessary to fill out the form at https://forms.office.com/e/n1wTBvcFG9, providing basic information about the application. Once the form is completed, you must send the required documentation specified in the regulations to the email address laczos.artisticos@oei.int. You will receive an email confirming receipt of the documents. Only when these two steps have been completed will the application proceed to the evaluation phase.
