About the Open Call

Kreatif Magazine provides a space for writers and artists from diverse backgrounds, including women and people who are historically excluded and marginalized, to share unique perspectives. The magazine seeks original works of fiction, creative nonfiction, poetry, visual art, and photography that explore complexities of ethnicity, community, inclusion, and justice. Visual art submissions can include drawings, paintings, collages, illustrations, comics, mixed media, and photography.

What is Offered

Contributors whose work is published will receive a digital contributor copy of the magazine.

Requirements

Submissions must be original works in English. Written pieces must not have been previously published in other magazines, journals, books, or anthologies (self-publishing on blogs/social media is acceptable). Visual art must be the artist's original creation and not published in other formal journals. AI-generated content is not accepted, though AI-assisted is allowed.

How to Apply

Fill out the Google Form provided on the website. Writers should submit one piece of prose (max 5,000 words) or up to two poems (max 50 lines each). Visual artists may submit up to four pieces in .jpg, .jpeg, .png, vector, illustrator, or .pdf formats (high quality, 3000 px on longest side). All submissions must include a 100-word biography and relevant contact/title information.
