About the Open Call

Long Story Short is Kickstarter’s annual open call for short films. Every March, filmmakers from around the world are invited to bring their unique visions to life by launching their projects on the platform. Projects launched as part of this initiative are featured in a curated collection promoted on the site throughout the month. The initiative includes filmmaker resources, webinars on funding, and a community of ambitious creative filmmakers.

Requirements

Filmmakers must launch a short film project on Kickstarter during the month of March 2026 and apply for inclusion in the curated collection via the specified form.
