Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society
Keep it Fringe is a funding initiative designed to remove financial barriers for artists performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. In 2026, the fund offers 12 grants of £2,500 each, funded by private donations. The fund prioritizes professional performers and creators who capture the defiant spirit of the Fringe, particularly those without high profiles or those facing barriers to funding. The grant is paid in two installments: £2,000 initially to assist with costs and registration, and a final £500 following the completion of post-festival reporting.
£2,500 grant (£2,000 initial payment + £500 post-festival payment).
Applicants must be UK-based artists or companies with a UK bank account. The show must be a live, in-person performance and must be registered for the 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe by June 03, 2026. The project must not be in receipt of funding from Arts Council England, Arts Council NI, Arts Council of Wales, or Creative Scotland for its Fringe run.
Applications must be submitted through the SmartyGrants online platform. For applicants where online forms present an accessibility barrier, video or audio applications can be arranged by contacting the team by February 18, 2026.
