Space A
The Kathmandu International Artist-in-Residency (KIAR) is an interdisciplinary program designed to foster collaboration, critical dialogue, and artistic experimentation. Set in Kathmandu, a living museum of history and culture, the residency provides a space for reflection and research. Participants have access to private rooms, shared studios (including ceramic kilns), and can engage with the local artistic community through workshops and presentations. The program also offers an optional 7-day trekking experience in the Himalayas.
Private room and shared working space (rooftop, studios, ceramic kilns), internet connection, weekly laundry service, opportunities for workshops/presentations, and connections with Nepal's cultural community.
Open to artists across disciplines including visual arts, performance, music, and writing. Applicants must provide a completed application form, CV, project plan, and work samples. Selected artists are responsible for their own travel, living expenses, and optional trekking costs.
