About the Open Call

Space A’s Kathmandu International Artist-in-Residency (KIAR) program provides a dedicated space for reflection, research, and collaboration. Set in an ancient city with a rich cultural history, the program accommodates up to four artists at a time across disciplines including visual arts, performance, and writing. Residents have access to private rooms, studios, and ceramic kilns. The program encourages interdisciplinary dialogue and offers the opportunity to connect deeply with Nepal's local artistic community.

What is Offered

The residency provides a private room, shared workspace (rooftop, two studios, and ceramic kilns), internet connection, kitchen access, laundry service, and professional promotion. Select artists may also host workshops or presentations and have access to technical resources.

Requirements

Open to visual artists, painters, sculptors, ceramists, performing artists, musicians, writers, and other creatives. Selected participants must pay a residency fee of USD 800 for 1 month or USD 1500 for 2 months, and are responsible for their own travel, supplies, food, and insurance.
