Kala Art Institute
Kala’s Fellowship Residency Program supports artists working across multiple media, providing access to specialized equipment, time, and financial support. The program is geared towards supporting artists in completing specific projects that benefit from Kala’s facilities, including printmaking, digital media, photography, and sculpture labs. Selected artists receive a stipend, studio residency, and a culminating exhibition.
$3,000 cash award, 1 to 9 months of 24/7 studio access, 1 month of housing for artists outside the 9 Bay Area counties, one Kala class, and participation in a group exhibition.
Open to international, national, and local artists. Applicants should propose projects that utilize Kala’s specialized equipment in digital media, printmaking, photography, or sculpture.
Applications are accepted online via kala.slideroom.com. The application is free from Dec 15, 2025 to Jan 15, 2026, and carries a $25 fee from Jan 16 to March 1, 2026.
