KAIR Košice
KAIR Košice, in collaboration with partners from Czechia, Poland, and Hungary, is opening a call for artists working in Slovakia for the 'Deconstructing Myths' project. This Visegrad Fund-supported initiative explores how national symbols in the V4 region are politicized and aims to offer alternative perspectives through contemporary art. The selected artist will receive a two-month residency at AQB Budapest in 2026 and will participate in a collective festival and exhibition in 2027.
The residency includes accommodation in Budapest, a separate studio at AQB, roundtrip transportation from Slovakia, a monthly stipend of 1000 EUR (covering per diem and artist fee), and curatorial and expert support.
Applicants must be artists working in Slovakia with at least 2 years of professional practice in visual art or performance. They must have completed their studies (or be PhD/DLA students), possess good English skills, and be free from other professional commitments during the residency period (March 1 to April 30, 2026).
Applicants must fill out the online registration form at https://forms.gle/73Pc8e46sd11qeTp8 and submit a CV, a portfolio (max 10 pages), and a motivation letter (max 1800 characters) containing a project proposal.
