Joy for Seniors
The Joy for Seniors Professional Development Residency provides hands-on training sessions from experts in arts, education, and social work. Participants receive individual mentorship and lead weekly 90-minute group arts classes for seniors. The program requires a commitment of 4 to 8 hours per week over 15 weeks and includes participation in public weekend events and a concluding community showcase.
$1500 stipend and Certificate of Completion documenting professional development hours upon successful completion of the program.
Artists, crafters, arts educators, and creatives ages 18+ with experience in physical 2-D and 3-D visual arts mediums are eligible. Selected participants must be able to attend program activities in person in Austin, Texas, and must submit to employment verification and a background check.
