About the Open Call

The HelvetArt January 2026 Art Competition is open to all artists over 18 worldwide. The theme is 'Open' and accepts all 2D media and sculptures. Awards include cash prizes for 1st and 3rd place, while the 2nd place winner receives a two-week solo exhibition at La Taberna Viva in Geneva. All accepted works are featured in an online exhibition and receive promotion via social media and blogs. Judging is based on originality, interpretation, and quality. A 30% commission is applied to sales from the physical exhibition.

What is Offered

1st Place: 500 CHF; 2nd Place: 2 weeks physical Solo Exhibition at La Taberna Viva; 3rd Place: 100 CHF; Honorable Mentions: Free entry for future competitions; Certificates of Participation; Worldwide online promotion and social media feature.

Requirements

Artists must be 18 years or older. 2D artworks for the physical exhibition must not exceed 140 cm x 120 cm. Sculptures must be under 50 cm height/width and 6 kg maximum. Artists are responsible for shipping, delivery, pickup, and insurance. Artworks must have hanging wires.

Complete the online application form on the website by providing contact details, an artist statement, and uploading images of up to two artworks before proceeding to the payment page.
