The International Puppet Fringe Festival, New York’s only international fringe festival dedicated to puppetry, returns August 12-16, 2026, and will once again feature performances by leading puppet makers and troupes from around the world. Organized by Teatro SEA, Grupo Morán (The Morán Group) and The Clemente Soto Velez Cultural & Education Center, the festival provides a dynamic platform for both established and emerging puppeteers to showcase their work, exchange ideas, and connect with audiences. This edition will highlight and celebrate Women in Puppetry, especially encouraging performances led by women and female-identifying artists.

Open call for puppeteers and troupes representing diverse styles, traditions, and voices. Special focus on performances created, directed, or led by women and female-identifying artists.
Interested puppeteers and troupes must review the requirements and guidelines and submit their applications via the official application link on the festival website by the January 16, 2026 deadline.
