INTERNATIONAL OPEN CALL – SOUTH SPECIFIC Festival 2028

About the Open Call

South Specific is a theater festival focusing on immersive and site-specific projects that connect live art with unique locations. As part of the České Budějovice – European Capital of Culture 2028 program, the festival seeks new projects from international teams or co-production teams involving at least one foreign partner. The call covers theater, dance, music, new circus, performing arts, audiovisual art, visual installations, happenings, and new technologies.

What is Offered

Co-production grant ranging from CZK 100,000 (~EUR 4,000) to CZK 1,000,000 (~EUR 40,000).

Requirements

The call is open to professional artistic teams, individuals, and recent graduates of art schools. Teams must be from outside the Czech Republic or be international co-productions. Projects must be newly created and suitable for site-specific or immersive contexts.

Applicants must fill out the electronic application form. A mandatory project budget must be attached using the provided template. Optional attachments such as project descriptions, letters of intent, and portfolios (max 5 files, 10MB each) can also be uploaded.
