About the Open Call

Selected artists are featured with detailed curatorial review essays in catalogue editions. Each artist receives a six-page spread. The publication includes the Point Pleasant Journal and Shoreline Voice. Writing is 100% human-created with no AI usage. Essays are shared on the organization website, Substack, and Artwork Archive. Eligible mediums include photography, performance, video, film, installation, assemblage, collage, fiber, printmaking, light design, jewelry, and fashion/costume design. Painting, drawing, traditional sculpture, and traditional ceramics are specifically excluded.

What is Offered

Six-page spread in a hardcover book, human-written curatorial review essay, and features on Point Pleasant website, Substack, and Artwork Archive.

Requirements

Artists must work in experimental or alternative visual art forms. Portfolios created with AI or Instagram links are not accepted. While there is no application fee, selected artists must make a $45 donation or purchase a book from the bookstore to be published.
