Interlude Artist Residency
Interlude's 2026 Open Call offers 3-week residency sessions for parenting visual artists at all career stages. The program provides private climate-controlled studios, a two-bedroom living space, and a $595 stipend. The residency is designed to be family-friendly, allowing artists to bring children and additional help, or attend solo, with individualized childcare planning assistance. The community-oriented program matches two artist/family units per session. Selection is based on artistic excellence and the strength of the proposed project by a diverse international jury.
Private studio with 24-hour access, private two-bedroom living space, shared kitchen, two weekly catered family meals, $595 stipend, and curated studio visits with local arts professionals.
Applicants must be visual artists and active parents (natural, foster, adoptive, or stepparents) of children under 18. Artists in academic programs and international artists are eligible. Applicants must submit 8-10 work samples and pay a $25 fee (waivers available).
Apply online via the CaFÉ platform by submitting 8-10 individual work samples (including images or up to 3 videos), an artist statement, and a CV.
