About the Open Call

A Turma, in partnership with Porto City Council, offers a residency for an international artist to develop a new project in Porto. The residency lasts two consecutive months and focuses on research for new dramaturgy or theatrical creation. Facilities include a 120m2 studio-blackbox, a 75m2 studio, and a costumes atelier. The program concludes with an informal presentation and a workshop for local young actors.

What is Offered

Grant of 5,000€ for European artists or 6,000€ for Intercontinental artists (covers payment, travel, materials, and logistics); one-bedroom apartment provided; studio space access.

Requirements

The artist must be from a country other than Portugal. Applicants must be playwrights, performers, or visual artists focusing on theatrical creation. Participants are required to host an informal presentation of their work and lead a workshop for local youth.
