Independent Dance
For the 2026–27 academic year, four bursary awards of £500 each will be offered through support from the Choreographers’ Gallery. The funding specifically prioritizes students with caring responsibilities or those travelling from outside London or the UK, helping cover costs such as travel and accommodation. The MA/MFA programme itself focuses on dance, somatic and interdisciplinary artistic research, combining academic study with professional artistic practice through a flexible and collaborative structure.
Applicants must first have accepted an offer to study on the MA/MFA Creative Practice: Dance Professional programme, either full-time or part-time. Eligibility is intended for practitioners who either have significant caring responsibilities affecting their ability to undertake the course or require financial support due to travelling from outside London or internationally. Applications are submitted through a short written, audio, or video statement explaining eligibility, and successful recipients are selected randomly from qualifying applicants.
