Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Offenbach
RESIDENCY 5.0 exploring porcelain supports international artists and designers, offering a free space to research, experiment, and develop innovative concepts in working with porcelain and ceramics. The program takes place at the Höchster Porzellan Manufaktur, Germany's second oldest porcelain manufactory and HfG Offenbach's new satellite location for research and teaching. The scholarship provides unique conditions for linking traditional artisanship with innovative interdisciplinary teaching and research concepts, including new digital processes like ceramic 3D printing and robotics. Scholarship holders will have access to HPM's production facility and workshops, including mold making, foundry, embossing, painting, and various kilns. Artists are expected to work on site at least 4-5 days a week, 6-8 hours daily for 4 months, focusing on the realization, exhibition, and documentation of their artistic project. They are encouraged to interact with students, teachers, and the public through workshops, lectures, and events. The residency team provides guidance, and a jury of experts selects the scholarship holders. The program initiates twice a year.
