Hedgebrook 2027 Writer-in-Residence Program

About the Open Call

The program provides a cottage and all meals for free to selected women-identified writers for a period of two to three weeks. Multi-genre writers are welcome to apply in whatever genre represents their strongest work. The residency experience is fully subsidized, though travel costs remain the responsibility of the writer. This call is specifically for the 2027 residency cycle and excludes alumnae seeking return stays.

What is Offered

Two or three-week residency, private cottage, and all meals provided for free.

Requirements

Applicants must be women-identified writers, 18 years of age or older. Open to international applicants. Not open to alumnae seeking a return stay.
