About the Open Call

Niza Knoll Gallery invites artists to submit work for “Have A Seat,” a juried exhibition celebrating the creative transformation of everyday chairs into works of functional art. This exhibition explores the chair as both object and canvas—an opportunity for artists to push the boundaries of design, storytelling, and craftsmanship. Any type of chair may be used: wood, metal, plastic, or upholstered. Chairs must be functional and usable. Artists may include one small matching side table if it is designed as part of the chair concept. The gallery may also accept paintings of chairs.

What is Offered

Inclusion in a gallery exhibition at Niza Knoll Gallery in Denver's historic Art District on Santa Fe; artists receive a 60% commission on any works sold.

Requirements

Applicants must be 18 years or older. All work must be original, created in the last 5 years, and non-AI/non-giclée. Chairs must be functional. 2D work must not exceed 48 inches wide by 72 inches high. Work must not exceed 30 pounds. Accepted work must be dropped off in person at the gallery on April 14, 2026; no shipping or delivery services are accepted.
