International Human Rights Art Movement
The International Human Rights Art Movement (IHRAM) is seeking live performance work in any discipline that engages with the life and philosophical ideas of Hannah Arendt, including concepts like the Banality of Evil, Totalitarianism, and the plight of Refugees. The festival takes place June 5-7, 2026. The call specifically targets artists based in New York and the Tri-state area. Work must be fully produced by the artist, as IHRAM acts as the presenting platform.
Accepted projects receive a $500 performance stipend, PR and marketing support, a 30-minute tech rehearsal, professional stage management support, and free photographic documentation of the performance.
Open to New York and Tri-state area based artists. Performances must be 10-20 minutes long and fully produced by the applicant. Work must not have been produced in NYC within the last year or be scheduled for production in NYC within six months of June 7, 2026.
Email Festival Assistant Producer Costanza Bugiani at costanza@humanrightsartmovement.org with a description of the piece (10-20 minutes running time), a cover letter aligning the work with Hannah Arendt's ideas, artist bios/resumes, and samples of the work (scripts, photos, videos, or audio links). Use the subject line: IHRAF Festival: Arendt, Association-Company-Your Name.
