Grand Plan
How the Application Process Works: Submission Applicants submit via text or audio; a copy is emailed back to them. Shortlist The Directors review applications on a rolling basis and shortlist ~40–60 applications per round. Judging Meeting Two independent artists and the Directors assess shortlisted submissions and select 20–25 grants. Decision Outcomes are communicated after each judging meeting. Individual feedback isn’t provided; broad themes may be shared. Assessment Criteria Reviewers ask: Clarity of idea & motivation: Does the application clearly explain what the project is and why the applicant wants to do it? Personal context and storytelling are valued over credentials. Feasibility within £1,000: The project should realistically be achievable with this amount — not a small part of a larger expensive project. A rough budget breakdown is sufficient. Funding likelihood elsewhere: Applicants should show the project is less likely to receive support from major funders.
Funding for creative projects.
