Good Hart Artist Residency
The Good Hart Artist Residency provides 10-21 day stays in a private, 1,150 sq. ft. home. Residencies between May and October include use of a detached, private studio space and basic art supplies. All food is provided, including a fully-stocked kitchen, homemade baked goods, and locally sourced ingredients. Residents receive a $500.00 stipend. The opportunity offers solitary time in a scenic environment for work, reflection, and recharge, as well as community engagement opportunities. A childcare grant of $1,000 is offered to one selected parent artist to help with dependent childcare costs at their home base.

Applicants must be pursuing their art, writing, or composing as a professional career. They are considered on the basis of submitted work, interest in the program, and proposed community engagement. Applications require a Resume/CV, statement of intent, proposed community engagement summary, two references, and discipline-specific work samples (visual artists: 6-9 images; writers: 3-5 pages current work + 5 pages completed work; composers: 3 digital music samples). An application fee of $35 is required, with waivers available for financial hardship requests received by December 19, 2025. Travel costs and Visa procurement are the responsibility of selected residents.
Applications must include: Resume/CV, Statement of intent (1-2 paragraphs), Brief summary of a proposed community engagement event or educational workshop (1-3 paragraphs), Contact information for two references (no letters required), Application fee of $35. Visual artists shall submit 6-9 images of artwork with title, medium, and creation date. Writers shall submit 3-5 pages from a current work in progress and an excerpt of no more than 5 pages of a completed work. Composers shall submit three digital music samples. Collaborating artists must each submit an application. Fee waivers may be requested by emailing sue@goodhartartistresidency.org before 11:59pm EST December 19, 2025.
