About the Open Call

Welcome to the 7th UrbanBreak 2026 Global Artist Open Call for international and local artists! The event, URBAN BREAK 2026, will take place at Coex Hall D from July 30th (Thursday) to August 2nd (Sunday), 2026. Exhibition hours are 11:00 AM - 7:00 PM from July 30th to August 1st, and 11:00 AM - 6:00 PM on August 2nd. Installation is scheduled for July 28th-29th, 2026, and pull-out on August 2nd, 2026. This open call is open to artists of any composition, nationality, gender, age, and genre. Selection criteria include alignment with Urban Break's values and vision, differentiation from existing works (including new works premiering at Urban Break 2026), potential for expansion of the work (e.g., collaborations), artist branding elements and potential of the work as IP, creativity and originality, program operations plan, promotional marketing plan, and feasibility of the exhibition operation plan.

Requirements

Open to artists of any composition, nationality, gender, age, and genre. Applicants must submit an exhibition plan and portfolio. Discrepancies in applicant information may result in a review penalty.

How to Apply

STEP 1: Online application by submitting a form including an exhibit plan and portfolio. STEP 2: Document screening. STEP 3: In-depth face-to-face interview (for domestic residents) or Zoom meeting (for international residents). STEP 4: Final announcement. All application forms, exhibition plans, and portfolios must be submitted in PDF format, with each file not exceeding 100 MB.
