Fringe Arts Bath
The Stitch That Bit Back is a textile exhibition curated by Katarina Orolinová and Chlöe Savage. The show presents fibre as a site of tension and transformation, where softness is not weakness and every thread carries intent. It invites textiles that speak back—embroidery that interrupts, felt that ferments, quilts that question, and lace that lacerates. The curators encourage exploration of resistance, repair, subversion of traditional techniques, and the uncanny within fibre.
Inclusion in the Fringe Arts Bath Festival 2026 exhibition and promotion through festival channels.
Open to artworks that engage with textiles through materials, techniques, concepts, or themes. All artists regardless of age, status, or location may apply. If selected, artists are asked for a £25 contribution and to volunteer some of their time.
To submit your work, email the curator at stitch@fringeartsbath.co.uk including: the exhibition name in the email title, a max 200-word statement about your work (written, audio, or video), images of the work or links to video/performance, and any relevant links.
