First Peoples' Cultural Council
This program provides funding for B.C. First Nations creatives to pursue either a one-on-one arts mentorship (up to $30,000) or arts group knowledge transfer (up to $50,000). Projects focus on transferring essential artistic and cultural knowledge to new generations, including practices like canoe carving, painting, regalia making, tattooing, weaving, and drum making.
Grants ranging from $30,000 for individual mentorships to $50,000 for group knowledge transfer projects.
Applicants must be B.C. First Nations artists (age 17+ for mentorships, 19+ for group transfer) or B.C. First Nations-led arts and culture organizations. Organizations must have at least 65% of board members from recognized B.C. First Nations. Projects must focus on First Nations arts practices from B.C.
Applications are submitted through the FPCC Grant Portal. Applicants must register on the portal and are encouraged to review program guidelines and watch the information video before applying.
