About the Open Call

The call invites artists to submit their strongest recent paintings (from the last two years) across a wide range of representational styles, including realism, hyperrealism, surrealism, and related approaches. The competition emphasizes artworks that reflect the real world while showcasing a personal artistic voice, rather than abstract or purely stylized work. Selected artists can benefit from: Cash prizes (up to approx. €5,500) Online exhibition exposure Gallery representation opportunities Promotion through FiKVA’s platforms

Requirements

Open to artists worldwide aged 18+ No restriction on nationality or career stage Artwork Criteria Must be original work created solely by the artist Produced between 2024–2026 Must be representational/figurative (not abstract) Accepted media: traditional painting techniques (oil, acrylic, watercolor, etc.) No digital or mechanical works allowed Submission Conditions Submit high-quality digital images (online only) Works may already be sold, but image copyright must remain with the artist Entry fee required (starting around €36, with additional fees per extra work)
