About the Open Call

Black Box Gallery is excited to announce a juried group photo show on Trees and Water. This exhibition will look to feature both subjects in a dynamic and diverse exhibition on contemporary photography. Trees and Water are both powerful and important subjects. Water can be an ocean, a river, a pool, a fountain, rain or mist or fog, lakes, snow and waves. And Trees can be great subjects of composition, giving the picture a strong foundation to play with the visual elements of space and time. 26 photographs will be selected by the juror for gallery exhibition, and an additional 50 for an online gallery annex. All selected works will be included in a catalog available for purchase on Blurb Books.

What is Offered

Free printing, matting, and framing provided by the gallery for exhibition. Inclusion in a physical or online gallery show and a printed catalog. 50% commission on all sales.

Requirements

Open to all photographers worldwide, amateur and professional. If selected, artists must provide high-resolution TIFF or JPEG files for printing. Gallery keeps prints in a flat file for 5 years for promotion.

How to Apply

Pay the $40 entry fee via PayPal. After payment, email info.blackboxgallery@gmail.com with the subject 'Field Work: Trees and Water'. Include your name, exhibition name, Instagram (optional), and the titles of your photos. Attach up to 5 photos as Jpegs, 1200 pixels on the longest side, 72 PPI, and under 5 MB each. Name files as firstname_lastname1.jpg.
