About the Open Call

Outburst is a curated festival of vital new queer art and creative happenings. For our 20th festival, we want to make and share spaces to deep dive into what Queer means now and where our revolutionary magic is. We programme new works by queer artists that resonate with urgent conversations around sexuality and gender. Work must be original, not previously seen in Northern Ireland, and ready to experience by June 2025.

What is Offered

Selected works will receive presentation support including an artist/performance fee, essential travel and accommodation costs, venue hire, and technical support.

Requirements

Original work by queer artists, writers, performers, filmmakers, or thinkers. Work must not have been seen or experienced before in Northern Ireland/The North of Ireland. Must be able to demonstrate a track record of quality if the work is a one-off happening, talk, or workshop.

How to Apply

Send a single PDF, Word document, or a video/audio file (max 7 mins) via email to hello@outburstarts.com with 'Festival Submission 2026' as the subject line. Include name, location, contact, project description (up to 400 words), documentation of work, artist/company CV, and a basic budget outline.
