FABRIC
This residency programme is open to independent artists based in the UK who work primarily in dance, movement, or choreography. FABRIC provides a total budget of £45,000 to be distributed among approximately six projects, with at least two places prioritized for artists living and working in the Midlands. The residency includes financial support, access to studio space in Birmingham or Nottingham, and staff time to assist with project development. Delivery can be scheduled in consecutive blocks or individual days between April 2026 and March 2027.
A portion of the £45,000 total budget, studio space at Fabric sites, and staff support time.
Lead applicants must be independent artists aged 18 or over, living and working in the UK, and primarily focused on dance, movement, or choreography. Applicants cannot be full-time students or full-time employees of regularly funded arts/heritage organizations. Previous recipients of JCRP Phase 2 and Fabric Residencies 2024-2025 are ineligible.
Interested artists should read the full application guidance pack and download the budget template. Applications must be submitted through an online form. Applicants also have the option to submit pre-recorded video or audio responses instead of written text for certain sections of the form.
