About the Open Call

EXPAND (Empowering the Performing Arts with XR and AI Technologies) is a European cooperation project supported by the Creative Europe programme, led by Dark Euphoria (FR) with & Espoo Theatre (FI) and 'Marin Sorescu' National Theatre (RO). The programme is designed for 6 creative duos, each composed of one emerging performing arts artist and one producer. Participants will engage in a 12-month journey combining hands-on labs, expert-led training, peer learning, and mentoring. The curriculum focuses on how XR and AI tools can reshape writing, dramaturgy, acting, design, production workflows, and touring models in performing arts.

Requirements

The call is for creative duos consisting of one emerging performing arts artist (director, choreographer, playwright, etc.) and one producer. Artists must meet the definition of 'emerging artist' as described in the Terms and Conditions. Applicants must be residents of eligible countries.

How to Apply

Applicants must apply as a duo through the online Tally form. Requirements include the artist's CV and portfolio (max 3 works), the producer's CV, and a joint cover letter (max 2 pages) explaining the shared artistic vision and motivations.
