Museum Krems
Organized by the City of Krems in cooperation with partners including the Province of Lower Austria, Rotary Club Krems-Wachau, Stift Göttweig, and friends of the Grabner family, the award recognises outstanding graphic works through juried prizes and a public choice award. Selected works will be presented in a major exhibition at museumkrems from 4 June to 15 November 2026, with the prize ceremony scheduled for 3 June 2026. Prizes are offered as acquisitions (total €15,500) in multiple categories: Prize of the City of Krems with €4,000 + solo exhibition in galeriekrems Prize of the Province of Lower Austria with €4,000 + inclusion in the provincial collection Rotary Club Krems-Wachau Prize for artists under 27 (€2,500) Stift Göttweig Prize for classical techniques (€2,000) Audience Prize (€3,000) determined by exhibition visitors (All prize-winning works are acquired into collections of the sponsors)
Eligibility & Submission Must be a resident of Austria at the time of entry Stage 1: Digital application (images + work details + artist statement + bio) via the museum’s online portal Stage 2: Selected artists must submit physical works by the deadline Only original, paper-based graphic works qualify; works must conform to size limits and be suitably presented for exhibition Jury & Selection A professional jury reviews digital submissions and selects ~50 works for the second stage Following physical submission, the jury awards several prizes based on artistic quality A public prize is determined by visitors during the exhibition at museumkrems
