About the Open Call

The Elf School of the Arts Residency offers 1-12 week stays between January and March 2026. Residents will have private bedrooms and studios, as well as access to equipment. Living spaces include shared living rooms and kitchens, with some shared bathrooms. The school is a 10-minute car ride to the closest town. While accommodation and studio space are free, residents are responsible for all supplies, consumables, and travel costs. Applicants must submit a CV/Resume and a portfolio of up to 10 images, with an option for video links.

Requirements

Applicants must submit a current CV or Resume and a Portfolio of up to 10 images (minimum 1024 pixels on the long dimension, up to 5 MB each). Accepted formats for images include .pdf, doc, docx, xls, xlsx, csv, txt, rtf, html, zip, mp3, wma, mpg, flv, avi, jpg, jpeg, png, gif, tiff. Video links can also be submitted. Applicants should specify studio equipment needs and their experience level. The application also asks for a bio (max 150 characters) and details on accessibility concerns.

How to Apply

Applicants need to provide contact information, select a proposal category, describe their goals for the stay, indicate collaborative work (if any), choose preferred dates (1-12 consecutive weeks), list required studio equipment and experience, state car ownership plans, and express comfort with shared living. A bio is required, along with any accessibility concerns. Finally, submit a current CV/Resume and a portfolio of up to 10 images/videos relevant to the proposal. Payment of the $10 application fee via PayPal is required.
