About the Open Call

This opportunity is a shared call for works by the International Meeting on Video-dance and Video-art (EIVV, Valencia, Spain, 12th edition) and the Festival International de Vidéo Danse de Bourgogne (Burgundy, France, 17th edition). Both festivals will maintain independent curation. Selected works will be presented in various venues and broadcast on prestigious platforms like numeridanse.tv, alongside other festival platforms. The aim is to highlight artistic qualities and organize talks with artists and curators. The call accepts videodance/screendance, video-performance, and video-art utilizing corporal expression or choreographic techniques, as well as abstract video art exploring visual composition, sound, rhythm, and movement. Submissions are free and open to works from any region and year, including those previously submitted.

What is Offered

Selected works will be presented in the different venues, and broadcast with prestigious platforms such as numeridanse.tv and the different platforms of the festivals. In addition to the curatorial presentations, talks with the artists and curators will be organized. Our goal is to highlight the artistic qualities of the works and their creators.

Requirements

Submissions are free and open to works from any region and any year. Artists should note works will be presented online and considered for future physical screenings. For Video-dance/Screendance/Video-performance, original creations where camera and editing are integral to choreographic concept, works using bodily movement as core video art component, and experimental narratives or abstract pieces emphasizing corporeality are sought. Straightforward documentation of stage performances, music videos lacking choreographic intent, and conventional dialogue-based narratives are not accepted. For Abstract Video Art, non-narrative works driven by visual experimentation, visual music, and explorations of movement, light, and form in dynamic relation to sound or music are welcome. This section excludes traditional dialogue-based storytelling or representational video.
