Edeiken International Arts Foundation (EIAF)
The Edeiken International Arts Foundation (EIAF) announces its second-year Artist-in-Residence Program hosted at 7artscafe in Yokohama, Japan. This residency is for professional musicians, composers, sound artists, and interdisciplinary creators whose primary medium is music or sound. The program supports innovation in contemporary sound, composition, performance, and cross-genre experimentation while fostering meaningful cultural exchange. One selected applicant or ensemble will receive a $10,000 USD grant for a one-month residency, during which they must present four free public events and a final concert or installation.
A $10,000 USD grant (payable in four installments) to support airfare, housing, living expenses, transportation, and project materials.
Applicants must be professional musicians or sound artists with at least five years of continuous professional experience and verifiable activity within the last 24 months. They must be aged 25 or older and living or working outside Japan. Ensembles of up to four members may apply.
Apply via the official online application form. Required materials include a completed form, a CV (maximum 3 pages), a government-issued photo ID, 3–5 audio or video portfolio links, a project proposal (maximum 1,000 words), two professional references, and a 2-minute video statement.
