The Edward F. Albee Foundation
The Edward F. Albee Foundation offers a residency program for visual artists and various types of writers. Applicants must prepare work samples: Visual Arts (6-12 images and/or 3 media files), Plays/Screenplays (a full manuscript), Poetry (up to 12 poems), Fiction (1 short story or 2 chapters from a novel), Non-fiction/Memoir/Journalism (2 essays/articles or 2 chapters from a book). Writers in foreign languages must provide English translations. All applicants must also include an up-to-date resumé, email addresses of 2 professional recommenders, and an artist's statement detailing their need for a residency and proposed project. Applicants must be able to take full credit for their work sample. The residency takes place at 'The Barn'. Special notes are provided for foreign national applications (non-US Citizens/Resident Aliens).
All fellows will be entitled to financial assistance in the form of stipends or reimbursements. Specific details coming soon.

Writers who write in a foreign language should apply with English translations of their work. All applicants must also include an up to date resumé, email addresses of 2 professionals familiar with them and their work (recommenders will be contacted for letters by the Foundation), and an artist’s statement explaining their current need for a residency, as well as the details of the proposed project while in residence. Applicants must be able to take full credit for the creation of their work sample.
