Emmanuel College Art Department
The residency supports a diverse group of artists, providing uninterrupted time and space for established and emerging artists to develop their work. One residency is awarded in each of four categories: ceramics, photography, printmaking, and social practice. Residents gain access to shared studio facilities, including wood and print shops, and are provided with on-campus housing and a stipend.
A $1500 stipend, on-campus lodging in dorms, access to shared studio facilities (Ceramics, Wood Shop, Print Shop, Darkroom, etc.), and a closing exhibition. International artists may receive up to $1000 for travel and visa reimbursement.
Artists must not be currently enrolled in an academic program. Participants must be on-site for the duration (June 8 – July 19, 2026), donate one piece of work to the college, and devote 3 hours to discussing their process in a summer art history course. Conversational English proficiency is required.
Submit a single PDF (under 10MB) to ecar@emmanuel.edu including a Resume/CV, Artist Statement, 20 images with descriptions, and a Project Proposal. The file should be named FirstName_LastName_Area.pdf.
